Nexus or TorZon

The most asked pair here and a genuinely close one. They differ on exactly two things, and which of those two you care about settles it in about a minute.

The two real differences

  1. Litecoin. Nexus takes it, TorZon does not. If you hold Litecoin and will not convert, the comparison is over.
  2. Address count. Five against three, which is about how much room there is when one address is being hammered.

Everything else is level. Same audience, same language, one year apart in a way that matters less than either point above.

Pick Nexus if

  • You hold Litecoin, or want the option of a faster confirming coin without a separate account somewhere.
  • You keep loose notes. Three addresses is less to let drift than five.
  • You want the simpler set to check. All three begin with the name, so the set reads consistently, for better and worse.

Pick TorZon if

  • You have been locked out by an address going down before. Five is the direct answer to that.
  • You weight track record, since it is a year older.
  • You keep a proper file. A five address set rewards that and punishes its absence.

One thing to know about the TorZon set

The TorZon set is mixed: one address opens with the market name and four open with nothing readable. If your habit is to recognise a familiar word at the front, that set will feel wrong four times out of five and a forgery will feel right. It is a good market to break that habit on.

If neither answer is obvious

Then the two facts you can check do not separate them for you, and the tiebreaker is what is listed, which this site cannot see. In that case the useful move is not to choose. Keep both, use whichever is reachable, and read the page on keeping a second market, since these two make a better pair than most.

If you are holding both

Reach for whichever is open and treat the other as the spare rather than as a second opinion. The point of two markets is that one of them is reachable on a bad week, and that only works if both accounts already exist with recovery material saved. An account you register during the outage is not a fallback, it is a new problem at the worst possible moment.

What neither of them tells you

Whether the listing you want is there, which is the reason people actually pick one market over another and the one thing this catalogue has no view of. Everything on this page is a tiebreaker for a decision that is usually already made by what is on offer.

A note on how these two fail

They fail differently, which is what makes them a decent pair to hold together. A three address market runs out of doors sooner under attack, and a five address market gives you more strings to keep current and more room for a near miss to sit unnoticed in your own notes. Neither problem is worse than the other and they do not happen at the same time.
